1. Styles of cushionsWe make 3 standard styles of cushions, and others on request. The 3 standard ones are:
To see pictures of these, visit Sewing of Cushion Covers. We are always experimenting with cushion designs - check out what is currently available for sale under Workroom Designs - they are usually one-offs, so keep an eye on the page for something you like. You can also spend an hour with one of our seamstresses who can work with you to sew any design you come up with (this is also a great activity with kids during the holidays).
2. How much fabric do I need for cushions? For a 45cmx45cm plain or piped cushion you need 0.5m of fabric. If you choose a patterned fabric and you want to be sure we are able to centre the design in the middle of your cushion, it is best to order the length of the pattern repeat in addition to the 0.5 and write in the comments field at checkout how you would like the pattern centred (we will always think about the best way to put a design on a cushion if you don't give us any instruction). We will include any leftover fabric in your delivery. For fabric quantities for other sizes and styles of cushions, please refer to the specific cushion you want in Sewing of Cushion Covers. 3. What happens to any leftover fabric? If you have any large pieces of fabric leftover as a result of pattern matching, they will be packed and included in your delivery with your sewn article. Scraps will not be included unless requested. |
